At Saint James Hospital Group, we strive for quality, equity and accountability, and we are proud to announce that we now have a Standards and Quality Department within our Group. The aim is to embark on a journey that leads the Saint James Capua Hospital in Sliema to accreditation, followed by Saint James Hospital in Tarxien.
The selected accrediting body is the Joint Commission International (JCI)
JCI is an independent international organisation focused on improving the safety of patient care. Achieving and maintaining accreditation indicates our commitment to providing the highest standard of patient care.
Accreditation promotes patient confidence by assisting the organisation to ensure a safe and effective environment for the delivery of healthcare. The needs of the patient, the patient’s family and employees are at its core. Accreditation is acknowledged worldwide as a symbol of achievement and gives us the opportunity to compare our services to the best hospitals and clinics from all over the world.
Accreditation is a voluntary process whereby an accrediting body assesses a hospital or a clinic to determine if the services that are being provided meet the standards set out by the accreditation body.
JCI is one of the few accreditation’s in the world that focuses on healthcare, including clinical and managerial areas.
