Charlotte Sant Portanier serves as the Chief Operations Officer for the Saint James Hospital Group. Anyone who has met Charlotte knows that she brings energy and organisational development to the group. A pharmacist by background, Charlotte also holds a post graduate diploma in clinical pharmacy and a Masters of Business Administration from Henley Business School (Reading, UK). She has worked in eight (8) hospitals around Australia and Malta in the past nineteen (19) years. She has been trained in patient centric environments with a key focus on quality and patient safety in a multi-disciplinary team environment, and with a strong emphasis on continuity of care.
Charlotte gained extensive experience in Hospital Pharmacy in Malta and Australia (New South Wales and Western Australia) where she has fulfilled a number of managerial roles in quality use of medicines, clinical pharmacy and Hospital Pharmacy administration. She also served as an examiner with the ex Pharmacy Council of Western Australia and the Pharmacy Board of Australia.
Charlotte is passionate about quality and patient safety, operational challenges and opportunities, and financial and analytical data. She strongly believes in the importance of digital solutions in the delivery of exceptional healthcare in the current environment, and for the challenging and interesting future – technology solutions that connect healthcare professionals with their patients, improving access to information, facilitating work flows and empowering patients to actively manage their health within a secure framework.
Her leadership style is transformational with the ultimate scope of nurturing and challenging a team to deliver exceptional healthcare and continue to expand the group services to care for as many people as possible.
Charlotte is married and has one child. She loves family time and is a passionate reader.
