Our Sleep Clinic diagnoses conditions such as Sleep apnoea as well as treating associated symptoms which can lead to potentially serious future conditions.

Sleep Apnoea is a potentially serious sleep disorder which repeatedly stops and starts breathing. Obstructive Sleep apnoea is most common and is associated with short-term symptoms occurring both in the day and night. Nighttime symptoms are most often noticed by a partner and include:

  • Choking or gasping for air
  • Frequent visits to the bathroom
  • Loud snoring
  • Restless sleep
  • Witnessed pauses in breathing

Daytime symptoms can see non-specific, but are not to be ignored! These include:

  • Early morning headaches
  • Feeling tired throughout the day
  • Irritability
  • Poor concentration

Although having these symptoms doesn’t mean you definitely have Sleep apnoea, getting checked is important as untreated this condition can lead to strokes, abnormal heart rhythms, high blood pressure and even type 2 diabetes.
