Meet The Manager

Andrei Camenzuli graduated in Health Science in 2006 and started his career working as a scrub nurse in St Luke’s Hospital.  He assisted various surgeries in different specialisations, however his main focus was consistently in Ophthalmology.  In 2008 he formed part of the hospital migration team as part of the move from St Luke’s Hospital to Mater Dei Hospital.

In 2009, he joined the Saint James Hospital Group and took up a nursing role with the Eye Clinic, and also assisting in ENT (ear, nose and throat) and eye surgeries.  He broadened his knowledge in the ophthalmic diagnostic testing and refractive laser surgeries.

Andrei attends various courses and conferences around Europe to continuously remain abreast of innovations and improvements within the field of Ophthalmology.  He has had training in various Carl Zeiss locations around Germany, mainly Jena and Obercohken.  He uses this knowledge and training to introduce these new technologies on the Maltese Islands and hence put Saint James Eye Clinic at the forefront in Ophthalmology.

In 2014 Andrei was appointed as Head of Department of Saint James Eye Clinic.  In 2016 Andrei joined Overseas Health Care Ltd, which forms part of Saint James Hospital Group, to embark on a new project – a stand-alone Eye Clinic in Birkirkara.  He played an active and vital role in the development of this Clinic, from the ergonomics and layout of the Clinic to the introduction of the most sophisticated Femto laser technology available around the world.  Today Andrei is the General Manager of the Saint James Eye Clinic.

The Saint James Eye Clinic remains the leading Eye Clinic that offers a full spectrum of surgeries and diagnostics in eye care backed up by all the leading ophthalmic specialists in the Maltese islands.
