Saint James Hospital has Immediate Medical Care Unit’s (IMCU) in Sliema and Zabbar open for emergencies 24 Hours a day, 365 days a year. You can also find an IMCU in Saint James Clinic, Burmarrad open Monday-Saturday between 07:30hrs and 19:30hrs (excluding public holidays) 

We provide immediate first aid, medical assessment and treatment for a wide range of accidents and emergency medical conditions. The Emergency Room staff members are a motivated, dedicated and compassionate team composed of doctors, nurses, emergency medical technicians and ambulance drivers.

 

Patient Assessment

Patients who are in immediate need of being medically visited do not need a previous appointment or referral. We strive to ensure minimal waiting times and prioritise the most urgent cases by assessing each patient immediately upon arrival.

Should your situation require urgent surgery or admission we offer to transfer you into one of our private rooms for definitive care.

  • TIA also known as a mini-stroke
  • Trauma including dislocations
  • Treatment of lesions, cuts, grazes and wounds
  • Upper and lower respiratory tract infections

  • Urinary Tract Infections (UTI’s)

AMBULANCE SERVICES

Our fully equipped ambulance is also available for patient transportation and transfers from home to hospital between hospitals.

  • Fully equipped and air-conditioned ambulance

You can be sure your loved ones will be taken care of in a professional manner and with one to one care at all times, making their journey with us as comfortable as possible. Our ambulances carry oxygen therapy equipment with defibrillator to provide aid in the event of any deterioration of patients whilst in our care. Other emergency equipment is also available. Crew members are trained in advanced life support skills, ambulance aid and resuscitation.
