The catering department hopes to successfully contribute in providing you with a Five Star Experience and play a small part in making your stay with us a positive one!
Our team supplies all catering to our inpatients. We pride ourselves in using only the freshest seasonal produce, cooked with delicious flavours from the Mediterranean. All our meats, fruits and vegetables are carefully selected from trusted suppliers to ensure consistency and the best possible quality.
Cooking in a hospital offers many daily challenges as we cater for various diets including; salt-free, fat-free, lactose intolerance, diabetic, vegetarian and gluten-free. All our meats and poultry are ’Halal’. As well as our daily menus, our highly trained hosts also offer a bespoke service for our patients with special dietary requirements.
Lunch and Dinner consist of three courses. For each course, the patient will have a choice of three items. All food is cooked fresh daily and we ensure that there is always a varied choice.
Afternoon Tea is provided daily and all pastry items are made in house by our talented pastry chefs. We offer a creative selection of classic and contemporary pastries such as; fresh English scones; Italian biscotti; orange and almond cake; Viennese fruit torte; chocolate truffle; warm chocolate fondant with marquise crème anglaise and Iced amaretti biscuit parfait with zabaglione, amongst others.
Our kitchen team has been awarded a high-grade rating from the ‘Health and Hygiene Directorate’ and at all times care is taken to ensure that staff adhere to good health, hygiene and HACCP controls.
During your stay as an inpatient, kindly inform us of any special dietary requirements you might have besides those relating to your intervention or medical condition being treated.
If, during your stay, you have a special occasion, an anniversary or birthday, and would like to order something special from the Food and Beverage Department, please let us know via the Host personnel. A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required if you would like a birthday cake or a similar food item.
In Sliema, you can also find Capua Cafe which is available to all visitors of the hospital.
Capua Café is open Monday – Friday between 09:00 and 19:00 and Saturday between 09:00 and 15:00.
The café hosts a pleasant environment with modern décor and a wide selection of hot and cold drinks and fresh, high quality food.
