Breast Ultrasound is an imaging technique that uses high-frequency sound waves to produce detailed images of breast tissue. Unlike X-rays and CT scans, ultrasound doesn’t use radiation and are considered to be safe for pregnant women.

Although a breast ultrasound can be used to reveal the tissue composition and blood flow in any areas of concern in your breast, it cannot be used to determine whether the lump is cancerous or not.

This can only be established if a sample of tissue or fluid is removed from the lump and examined in a laboratory.
