Graduated in 2003 at the University of Malta, Dr Gerada started training in gastroenterology in 2008 at Addenbrookes’ Hospital, Cambridge, UK. He went on to obtain MRCP in Gastroenterology and a Masters in Gastroenterology at Queen Mary University of London, passing with Distinction. In 2012, he subspecialised in hepatology, pancreatico-biliary disease and interventional endoscopy at King’s College Hospital, London. Dr Gerada was appointed consultant gastroenterologist & hepatologist at Mater Dei Hospital in 2015. His main interests include acid reflux, coeliac disease, IBS, inflammatory bowel disease, colorectal cancer screening, liver disease and endoscopy, having published a number of papers on the above topics. Dr Gerada is a Visiting Lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine & Surgery and Institute of Health Sciences, a Fellow of the European Board of Gastroenterology & Hepatology, and also holds the position of Post-Graduate Training Coordinator for junior doctors.
