Endoluminal Procedures

Lose weight in an effective and sustainable way, without having invasive surgery.

Endoluminal surgery is performed entirely through the mouth by using flexible endoscopy. Our experts in endoluminal treatments are offering you unique and advanced solutions to lose weight in a healthy way.

Endoluminal procedures will initiate your weight loss journey and gradually help you lose weight in a healthy and effective manner that would lead to long term results. We will help you find a healthy balance between losing weight, maintaining weight off and adapting to a new lifestyle.

Endoluminal procedures are effective ways to lose weight resulting in decreasing the risk of developing well known conditions such as hypertension, high cholesterol and diabetes.

Gastric Balloon

What is a gastric balloon?

A gastric balloon is a temporary weight loss procedure. It is a small, soft balloon that is inserted into the stomach and filled with liquid, causing a feeling of fullness. No surgery nor any incision is needed to place or remove the gastric balloon. The balloon is a procedure that assists with weight loss, giving you the necessary time and support to adopt a healthier lifestyle.

How does the Gastric Balloon work?

The gastric balloon is inserted via the mouth into the stomach, then inflated with a saline solution, becoming a sphere, the size of a grapefruit. Gastric balloon fills up your stomach to about 30%, reducing the amount you can eat and giving an early feeling of fullness, signalling your brain you are full sooner and longer. To remove the gastric balloon, it is deflated in the stomach and removed as the way it was placed. Again, a simple, fast and safe non-surgical procedure.

What are the benefits?

The balloon sits in the stomach, making you feel full and controlling appetite, so that portion sizes are reduced, and patients are less driven to snack. On average patients will lose 10-15% of their bodyweight.

Will it work for me?

To support your success as with any weight loss surgery, patients need to be prepared to work hard with the gastric balloon and follow the advice given by your clinical team.

Allurion Gastric Balloon

What is the Allurion Gastric Balloon?

If you are significantly overweight and have a history of unsuccessful dieting, the Allurion Balloon Weight Loss Programme may be right for you. At the center of the Allurion Programme is a soft balloon that is placed in your stomach. The balloon is swallowed during a 20-minute appointment, and neither placement nor removal of the balloon requires surgery, endoscopy, or anesthesia.

With the help of your care team and the sense of fullness created by your balloon, you can change your eating habits and reclaim control of your health

Is the balloon easy to swallow?

Most people are able to swallow the capsule containing the Allurion Balloon without any issue. People who do have difficulty swallowing it can be assisted by their physician, who will use a thin wire (stylet) to help guide the capsule into place—still without endoscopy or anesthesia.

How is the balloon removed?

After approximately 16 weeks inside your stomach, a time-activated release valve on the balloon will open, allowing it to empty and pass naturally through the gastrointestinal tract without the need for a removal procedure.

Overstitch

The Overstitch procedure is a minimally invasive endoscopic technique used to repair or modify the stomach. It can be utilized to create a sleeve-like stomach shape without surgical incisions, aiding in weight loss. Alternatively, it can be performed as a gastric revision to reduce the size of the stomach pouch or stoma after a previous weight loss surgery (such as gastric sleeve or bypass) in cases of weight regain.

This procedure is minimally invasive, involving no external incisions, which results in less pain and faster recovery.

Endo Sleeve (POSE)

What is the Endo Sleeve?

The Endo Sleeve, also known as the Primary Obesity Surgery Endoscopic (POSE®2) is a revolutionary technique that involves making a series of folds in specific sections of the stomach inner wall, without the need for surgery. The folds will reduce the stomach capacity by approximately 50%. The Endo Sleeve is a type of weight-loss procedure that restricts eating and reduces hunger by reducing the size and capacity of the stomach as a result of making sutures in the stomach to make it smaller. The multiple folds of stomach tissue created by the Endo Sleeve will limit food intake and slow down the emptying of the stomach. Patients report eating much less and that it takes longer between meals to get hungry again.

What are the benefits of the Endo Sleeve?

The Endo Sleeve leads to significant weight loss. It helps by limiting how much one can eat. The procedure is minimally invasive, reducing the risk of operative complications and allows quick return to daily activities.

Will it work for me?

Like other weight-loss procedures, the Endo Sleeve requires commitment to a healthier lifestyle. Patients need to make permanent healthy changes to their diet and get regular exercise to help ensure the long-term success of the Endo Sleeve.

Gastric Botox

What is Gastric Botox?

Gastric Botox is a non-surgical procedure performed by endoscopy. It helps to speed up weight loss by using Botox injections to relax the stomach muscles, which will temporarily cause fewer muscle contractions.

How does Gastric Botox work?

Botox is injected into the stomach wall causing the stomach muscles to slow down. This results in the stomach not emptying immediately after eating and therefore the food eaten remain in the stomach for longer. In this way, the digestion of food lasts longer and the need to eat again decreases. Gastric Botox also reduces the amount of certain hormones secreted, which causes the patient not to feel as hungry as before.

What are the benefits?

With endoluminal therapies, like Gastric Botox, patients will gradually lose weight in a healthy manner, without invasive surgical procedures, and keep the results long-term.

Will it work for me?

To support your success as with any weight loss solution, patients need to be willing to commit to healthy lifestyle changes, get regular medical follow-up and follow the advice given by our clinical team.
