Prof Edith Said is a consultant medical geneticist with experience in Clinical Genetics, Cytogenetics and Molecular Genetics. She is an associate professor with the University of Malta. She has headed research projects in reproductive genetics on recurrent pregnancy loss, female infertility and molar pregnancies. She also has a special interest in the genetics of learning disability, neurological conditions and autism. She has participated in international consensus statements on Silver Russell syndrome and cortical brain malformations and is currently a reviewer in several international genetic journals.
