BHRT
Bio-identical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) is a customised treatment designed to re-balance hormone levels and reduce symptoms of menopause by using plant-derived hormones without the side effects of other treatments.
When our hormones are in balance we feel healthy, energetic and more in control of our lives. As we age our hormones decline, especially in women going through menopause.
Balancing and augmenting these hormones can have a wide range of health benefits and treat the following symptoms of menopause:
- Anxiety
- Fatigue
- High cholesterol
- Hot flushes and night sweats
- Memory loss
- Mood swings and depression
- Low libido
- Sleep disturbances or insomnia
- Weight gain
Cervical Screening
Smear Tests
A smear test is a method of cervical screening used to detect potentially precancerous and cancerous processes in the cervix (opening of the uterus or womb).
Abnormal findings are often followed up by more sensitive diagnostic procedures and if warranted, interventions that aim to prevent progression to cervical cancer.
Our specialised gynaecologists will do their utmost to make this procedure as pleasant for the patient as possible.
Colposcopy
Colposcopy is a procedure to closely examine your cervix, vagina and vulva for signs of disease. During colposcopy, your doctor uses a special instrument called a colposcope.
Your doctor may recommend colposcopy if your smear test result is abnormal. If your doctor finds an unusual area of cells during colposcopy, a sample of tissue can be collected for laboratory testing, also known as a biopsy.
Many women experience anxiety before their colposcopy exams, however our empathetic and professional team will be on hand to make you as comfortable as possible throughout.
