What is the Saint James Hospital Health Coaching Clinic?

Health Coaching is a fast-growing, specialised form of coaching which enables people to reach their full health potential. It is an evidence-based, non-clinical healthcare method, scientifically shown to help people achieve their long-term health targets.

Together, Health Coach and client explore goals, plan a new path forward, address obstacles, and take action with accountability. From one session to the next, and through regular check-ins, a Health Coach supports clients in adopting sustainable behavioural changes that benefit their well-being.

What can a Health Coach help you with?

A Health Coach guides you in adapting your lifestyle to improve your overall health.

Rooted in the pillars of lifestyle medicine—nutrition, movement, sleep, and stress management—coaching sessions can help you achieve specific health improvements, such as managing weight, breaking the cycle of yo-yo dieting, lowering high cholesterol, reversing pre-diabetes, managing peri/menopause symptoms, reducing stress, and restoring energy levels.

When needed, a Health Coach collaborates with your GP, medical consultant or healthcare professional to ensure that sessions align with your broader health plan.

What is it like to work with a Health Coach?

Coaching might be new to you, so to give you a sense of what it is like to work together, we offer a complimentary Health Coaching session. In this session, we will discuss your health challenges and goals, giving you the clarity to decide if coaching feels right for you. Whatever you decide, our aim is for you to leave this session feeling ready to take the next steps in your health journey.

If you decide that Health Coaching is the support you need, you can choose from our one-on-one programs lasting 4, 6, or 8 weeks. These multi-week programs are designed to help you gradually build new habits and routines that integrate seamlessly into your lifestyle.

Health Coaching Clinic Services

4-week Programme

This health coaching program consists of four weekly, one-hour sessions with a Registered Health Coach, supplemented with regular check-ins and support between sessions.

Based on the client’s needs, we will cover the essential foundations of healthy eating, or, if sleep or stress is more of a priority, we will focus there—because each client is the expert on their own needs. By the end of the program, clients will feel lighter, more energized, and more in control of their well-being.

6-week Programme

This health coaching program consists of six weekly, one-hour sessions with a Registered Health Coach, along with regular check-ins and support between sessions.

Depending on the client’s priorities, we will focus on the foundations of healthy eating, filtering out myths to identify what truly matters for nourishing their body. If sleep or stress is more important, we will address those areas first, because clients know their own needs best. We will also introduce the foundation of movement, helping clients adopt a new lifestyle where movement becomes a joyful and natural part of their routine.

8-week Programme

This health coaching program includes eight weekly, one-hour sessions with a Registered Health Coach, along with ongoing support and check-ins between sessions.

Tailored to each client’s unique needs, we will explore the essential pillars of healthy living: nourishing the body through balanced eating, fostering restful sleep, managing stress, and discovering the joy of movement. Together, we will work through straightforward, personalized strategies to help clients integrate these changes into daily life. By the end of this program, clients will feel equipped with practical tools and a sustainable lifestyle they can carry with them, wherever life takes them.

Follow-up Support Plans

New, healthy routines take time to become an effortless part of daily life. After completing a health coaching program, clients may find some habits not yet fully ingrained.

They might encounter new obstacles or lose sight of their goals, and that’s where the support plan steps in. It provides guidance, accountability, and helps clients adjust as needed. Acting as a safety net, this plan reinforces healthy habits and equips clients to handle new challenges as they arise. With regular check-ins and continued encouragement, a support plan ensures that routines stick, making it easier for clients to thrive and continue progressing—even when unexpected challenges arise.
