Structured leadership and innovation underpin Saint James Hospital’s continued growth and patient-first approach.

Since opening its first medical centre in 1986, Saint James Hospital Group has grown into a leading force in private healthcare, treating over 600,000 patients annually.

Under the leadership of CEO Jean Claude Muscat, COO Andrei Camenzuli and Medical Director Dr Adrian Vella, the Group continues to invest in technology, governance and patient safety.

“We are at the forefront of private healthcare in Malta,” said Muscat. “Our leadership framework ensures we consistently provide unparalleled quality and safety.”

A Structured, Patient-First Approach

The Group employs more than 500 staff and works alongside 300 consultants and surgeons, supported by a strong governance structure and medical committees.

Recent investments include robotic-assisted surgery, expanded facilities in Żejtun and advanced laser technology for ophthalmic procedures.

Dr Adrian Vella emphasised the importance of maintaining the human element in care.

“Technology must enhance, not replace, the patient-doctor relationship. Every initiative we introduce is guided by patient safety and long-term value.”

With a clear strategic vision and a culture rooted in excellence, Saint James Hospital remains committed to delivering modern, compassionate and innovative healthcare for the community.
