Saint James Hospital Group has strengthened its international presence with an €8 million investment in a new 2,300-square-metre medical complex in Budapest, Hungary.

The expansion more than doubles capacity and reflects the Group’s continued commitment to innovation and growth beyond Malta.

“This investment represents another important step in our long-term strategy,” said CEO Jean Claude Muscat. “We have doubled our potential in ophthalmology and aesthetic surgery, ensuring we remain responsive to evolving patient needs.”

Expanding Services and Expertise

The Budapest complex now includes two fully equipped operating theatres and expands services beyond ophthalmology to include cosmetic and plastic surgery.

The facility is equipped with the latest medical technologies, supporting common procedures such as cataract and laser interventions, while enabling more specialised aesthetic treatments.

The expansion also strengthens collaboration between Maltese and Hungarian specialists, encouraging professional exchange and shared expertise. By investing in advanced infrastructure and skilled teams, Saint James Hospital continues to deliver excellence in private healthcare across borders.
